Case: Qualiac strengthens its presence in the banking sector

Already a strong presence in the banking sector, the publisher of ERP Qualiac recently announced the signing of a client’s weight, in the person of the Caisse d’Epargne Provence Alpes Corse (Cepac). A draft form of challenge for the publisher because, contrary to his habits, he left an existing repository to implement

its ERP.

Case: CEPAC is 264 agencies, 2,550 employees and as many as 2.1 million customers. As such, it is the first financial institution in the Mediterranean coast. The first contacts between this structure and Qualiac occurred during the first quarter of 2007 with the implementation of ERP presentations Qualiac and diagnosis of functional needs of the bank.

Following these initial meetings, the 1st quarter of 2008, called CEPAC assistance to project owners to check the suitability of the publisher and the software to meet the needs and constraints of the organization of CEPAC in part of a project implementation based on a core-model existing in another region CE. The publisher decides to integrate its partner Micropole-universe project. The pair agrees on business results, budget and duration.

Both companies are facing a rather unusual methodology, the starting point of deployment is a copy of the repository used by the Caisse d’Epargne Côte d’Azur (existing customer Qualiac). “This is an exceptional case, we usually start from a “blank sheet” and not an existent. This demonstrates our ability to secure a project starting from a clear basis”Explains Thierry Grapain Sales Manager Direct Sales at Qualiac.

Manage complex flows of expenditure

The start of implementation comes at the end of August 2008, Qualiac have decided to enlist the expertise of its partner-Micropole Universe. The goal is to replace an outdated solution that runs on mainframe while engaging technically on the recovery of data.

“By working alongside Micropole-Universe on a challenge such as that proposed, we show a strong signal of mutual trust agree that an editor and partner”Said Thierry Grapain.

The stakes of the project revolve around control of the chain of spending and investment by adapting to the constraints of information system very complex and interoperability tools very advanced. The start of production occurs in early February 2009 and within 6 months, the project is completed.

The correct implementation of Qualiac in several savings banks and the banking sector in general with references as Bank Agreement or Group Arkea and satisfaction of those customers already using ERP, have reinforced the CEPAC in choosing Qualiac. The presentation quality and ability to meet the requirements set out by the contracting authority (budget, duration, results) have reinforced the decision of the bank.

In the short term, extending the reach of the ERP

The CEPAC, including Alain Lacroix is the Director since June 2009 (photo), is very satisfied with the result, an extension of benefits is expected to increase the visibility of the ERP Qualiac within the structure in a second batch. Other people are referred and CEPAC therefore hoped to extend the functionality of the solution.

“The development is actually engaged. The operation is very good, we are moving towards a long-term. The CEPAC has indeed discovered a functional depth it did not suspect and which also was not necessarily originally intended. We are also ready to support more generally the reorganization of banking companies and of course to make such projects with new savings “Adds Thierry Grapain.

This success positions Qualiac more than ever as a real alternative address the major publishers in the market, especially given the costs and delays in implementation.
