Microsoft Announces Office 2011 for Mac

Although not available until later this year, the office suite will have more opportunities for collaboration in groups and improve compatibility between platforms.

Microsoft has taken the fair MacWorld 2010 to publicize the new version of its office suite for Mac Office 2011, but not available until later this year.

The development team responsible for this new version is the Macintosh Business Unit Microsoft (MacBU) who claims to have relied heavily on the feedback received by users of Office for Mac when introducing new features.

For example, the 2011 version incorporates several Co-Authoringtools, which allow for greater collaboration between several users to work with the same file, not just Word, but Excel or PowerPoint.

In this same section also included the Everywhere Presence function, which will run a follow-up work in real time and thus know which users are using office documents.

In the area of user interface, Microsoft has decided to implement the mode Ribbon, which in turn generated several criticisms (both positive and negative) to significantly change the organization of the elements of these applications.
